I felt sad, so I baked.

Baking at 10 pm, I thought of Poh from Poh & Co. and her late-night baking. It didn’t matter how busy her day was, she always baked right before bed as a means to quiet herself and make something with her hands. This time, it was my turn. I decided to make a funfetti cake to make use of sprinkles I had and use my new 6-inch cake pans that arrived this weekend.
The sprinkles made me smile.

As I mixed them in still feeling sad, I remembered Tita from Like Water for Chocolate and wondered if my family would also feel sad as they tasted my cake tomorrow.
I left the small pan cooling and will most likely frost it in a day. I’ll let you know how it goes.
