I left my makeup bag in the car and instead of going downstairs to get it as any normal person would, I challenged myself to do my makeup with what I had in my drawers; makeup that I abandoned in pursuit of new things. I found a blush I forgot I had and a red lipstick I disliked in the past, but the two convinced me to give them another try in the future.
This creative challenge most likely came from my brief stint of looking through a copy of The Art of Noticing at the library. I was feeling stagnant and decided to be near books that related to the thing I was looking for: inspiration. I skimmed through one page and then put it back. I took The Creative Habit by Twyla Tharp instead, the one I was originally looking for.
Me challenging myself to get creative was unexpected, it felt like a cool breeze coming in when all of the windows were closed. I want more of it.
